About Ilkley Rifle Club in West Yorkshire

We are a private, members only multi-disciplined target shooting club, located on the outskirts of Ilkley. The club’s shooting activities extend to air pistols, air rifles and .22” rim-fire cartridge rifles.

The club welcomes new members regardless of experience or ability and the facility can accommodate those with physical disabilities.

We are a registered Community Amateur Sports Club, a licensed Home Office Gun Club and are affiliated to the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA).

Members are encouraged to compete in the various NSRA competition shooting leagues.

The club has a long pedigree, it has been in existence since around 1908 and has occupied its current site in Ilkley since 1973. The residents of Ilkley may be surprised to learn that between 1937 and 1973 the club range was located in the upper floor of a building in the yard of the Crescent Hotel in the centre of Ilkley.

Facilities and Opening Times

Facilities

The club has an indoor 4 lane 25-yard range which is certified for .22” rim-fire cartridge rifle shooting with a heated firing point and has four 10 metre electronic returning targets to support the 10 metre air disciplines.

Adjacent to the range is a clubhouse with a small lounge, kitchen and toilet and the site has a car park.

Opening Times

The club meets on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening and Sunday morning. The range has been certified for multi-discipline use which enables all of the shooting disciplines to be undertaken concurrently.

Full members can apply to be issued with a range key (fee payable) and subject to club guidelines can attend the range outside the formal meetings and shoot. This is very popular and informal mid-week daytime meetings are organised by members.
